Bank of Maldives Introduces Dollar ATM in Addu Hithadhoo

The Bank of Maldives (BML) has launched a new dollar ATM at its Addu Hithadhoo branch, offering 24/7 dollar deposit and withdrawal services. This move aims to provide greater convenience for customers in the region, meeting the growing demand for foreign currency services.

At the inauguration ceremony, BML CEO Mohamed Shareef highlighted the significance of Addu in the bank’s development journey. He noted that Addu holds a key role in BML’s expansion, being home to the bank’s first branch in the atolls. Today, the area boasts three BML branches, nine ATMs, and a contact centre, with the highest number of BML staff working outside Male.

In addition to the new dollar ATM, the Hithadhoo branch currently has two other ATMs—one for self-service banking and another for withdrawals. BML continues to expand its presence, with 39 branches across 20 atolls, 95 self-service banking centres, 151 ATMs, and a range of online banking services. This new service reinforces BML’s ongoing commitment to supporting the needs of its customers in Addu and beyond.
