Hulhumale’ has officially opened its new senior community hub on February 5, 2025, with the aim of enhancing the social welfare of elderly citizens. The inauguration ceremony, held on Wednesday, was led by Fayaz Mansoor, the Deputy Managing Director of Housing Development Corporation (HDC).
The hub is part of HDC’s corporate social responsibility efforts and will be managed by the Ministry of Social and Family Development. It is designed to be a friendly and accessible space where elderly individuals can receive vital services. The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art tools to provide health screenings and specialized healthcare diagnostics.
In addition to health services, the hub includes recreational areas for leisure activities, such as reading, alongside an emergency response room, prayer room, and kitchen. The hub is also accessible to persons with disabilities and will be open daily from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, except on Fridays and Saturdays. This new development marks a significant step toward improving the quality of life for Hulhumale's elderly population.
