President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu departed Male’ on Tuesday morning for a three-day visit to multiple islands across HA. Atoll. As part of his tour, he will visit at least 10 islands, including Dhihdhoo, Filladhoo, Hoarafushi, and others.
The President’s first stop was Muraidhoo, where he began meeting with local councils, women’s development committees, and senior officials to discuss the unique needs of each island. These meetings are aimed at understanding the specific challenges faced by each community and addressing them with tailored solutions.
During the tour, President Muizzu is expected to inaugurate several key projects, such as new police posts, council secretariat buildings, and cold storage facilities. He will also launch important services, including national identity card and passport issuance, and the ‘Magey Solar’ initiative.
In addition, agreements will be signed with the Bank of Maldives (BML) to introduce ATM services, improving banking access for island residents. The President is accompanied by cabinet ministers and government officials and will return to Male’ on Thursday. This tour is part of his ongoing commitment to engage with local councils and enhance island development.
