Say Hello To The Villa College Student Association’s Student Representative Council Members of 2021!

Villa College Student Association (VCSA) is the student council of the largest privately owned college in the country. VCSA was formed with the main purpose of providing a platform which enables students to be involved in the governing and decision-making process of Villa College in addition to being involved in activities and services which will encourage interaction among students, enrich their college experience and foster a larger college community. 

Yesterday, a special ceremony was held at Villa College’s main campus for the official inauguration of the VCSA’s Student Representative Council Members of 2021. The ceremony was special guested by Minister of Youth, Sports & Community Empowerment, Honorable Ahmed Mahloof. Student bodies from other local colleges and universities were also attendees at the inauguration ceremony. 

The Student Representative Council Members were elected through a voting held amongst students of the College which was held on 6th December 2020, virtually via Moodle. Villa College notes that this year marks the one in which the most number of students have contested in the elections. Students were elected to fill 13 posts at the Student Representative Council for a term of one year. Their names are as below;

Welfare Secretary - Fathimath Jahubaaz
Academic Secretary - Yushfa Nadheem
Postgraduate Representative - Sazla Abdul Qafoor 
Undergraduate Representative - Ahmed Shaafy Adam 
Other Programs Representative - Aishath Malsa Moosa Jaleel 

Speaking at the ceremony, the President of the Student Representative Council Moosa Meekail Ahmed Jaleel, outlined the activities and events which are planned for the year by the body. In this regard, he stressed that importance will be given to equally facilitate opportunity to partake in the mentioned activities and events for students studying in all of the College’s campuses.
