The Maldives Association of Tourism Industry (MATI), in partnership with Parley Maldives, recently held two key events as part of the Reethi Raajje campaign, focused on environmental sustainability and cultural preservation. The events, held in Addu City and Fuvahmulah City in November 2024, brought together local communities and schools for a series of educational and hands-on activities.
On November 24, in Addu Nature Park, students, youth volunteers, and NGOs such as Project Thimaaveshi participated in activities like environmental education, microplastic collection, and ocean trivia. A cleanup in the Funa Vavu area followed on November 25, involving community members and organizations like Veshisaafu.
On November 27, Fuvahmulah’s Youth Centre hosted similar initiatives, with school students, volunteers, and NGOs like Women in Fuvahmulah and Miyaru.org. Activities included discussions on marine conservation, cultural landmarks, and interactive learning experiences.
Both events were part of the campaign’s goal to foster environmental stewardship and inspire future generations. The Reethi Raajje campaign will continue in Laamu Atoll, advancing its mission for a sustainable future in the Maldives.
