13,000 New Homes Coming to Male' in Major FDC Project

Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) is set to build 13,000 housing units in the Male' area, according to Managing Director Hamdhan Shakeel. The company has signed agreements with three foreign companies, including a Sri Lankan firm that will oversee the construction of 3,000 homes.

This project is part of a larger initiative announced by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, which aims to deliver a total of 27,000 housing units across Male' and the atolls. The Male' region will see 15,000 units, while the remaining 12,940 will be built in the atolls.

In an interview with State media, Hamdhan confirmed that FDC is in the process of securing financing through loans from foreign financial institutions. He also noted that the permit application for the project will be submitted within the next two months, with construction expected to officially begin in four months.
