Maldivian badminton stars Aminath Nabeeha and Fathimath Nabaha Abdul Razzaq have made history by advancing to the singles final of the Botswana International Series. Nabaha cruised past Azerbaijan's Hajar Nariyeva, winning 21-15, 21-15, while Nabeeha triumphed in a thrilling three-set match against Era Maftuha, securing a 21-12, 20-22, 21-8 victory. This marks the first time two Maldivian athletes have reached the singles final of a BWF-recognized tournament.
In addition, Nabaha also reached the mixed doubles final with Zayan Zaki, defeating Nariyeva and Jahid Alihasanov 21-13, 21-18. They will face Maftuha and Agil Gabilov in the final.
This historic achievement highlights the rising talent of Maldivian badminton on the international stage.
