Minister of Health Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim has declared that the next four years will bring significant changes to the Maldivian healthcare system, beginning with the inauguration of Dharumavantha Hospital as a tertiary-level facility.
Speaking at the event, Minister Nazim acknowledged the hospital's underutilisation since its completion in 2018, noting that its potential had not been fully realized. However, with its new role as a fully equipped tertiary hospital, it symbolizes the government's renewed commitment to improving healthcare services nationwide.
The Minister highlighted the ongoing efforts under President Dr Mohamed Muizzu's leadership, particularly in strengthening the healthcare system. These include enhancing services for the sick, promoting preventive health measures, and improving governance across the sector.
Nazim reassured citizens that the government is focused on addressing longstanding issues and promises visible improvements in the coming years. The next four years will see expanded health services reaching both urban centres and remote atolls, ensuring better care for all Maldivians.
With its state-of-the-art facilities, the Dharumavantha Hospital inauguration marks a major step in the government's mission to advance healthcare for everyone, setting the stage for a healthier future.
