In preparation for the Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race (DMRR) 2024, the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation has announced that the race route will be closed to non-essential vehicles next Friday, October 25, from 5:00 AM to 9:00 AM and again from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. This closure is essential to ensure the safety of the 4,400 runners expected to participate in this premier event.
The race will be held at Central Park, Hulhumale’, featuring a Half Marathon and 10K races in the morning, while the 5K race is scheduled for 4:30 PM. DMRR 2024 is recognized as the largest international running event in the Maldives, included in the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) World Running calendar, with a World Athletics-certified route.
