Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has introduced "MACL Career 2024," a career guidance program specifically for school students. This initiative aims to raise awareness about job opportunities in the aviation sector, including roles in airport operations. The first career fair took place yesterday at Ghaazee School, marking an important step in MACL's corporate social responsibility efforts.
During the event, MACL CEO Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed stressed the need for technically skilled Maldivians and highlighted the importance of school leavers understanding the various career options available within a leading company like MACL. He noted that Velana International Airport (VIA) not only manages airport functions but also offers a range of municipal services, creating diverse employment opportunities.
The event included a lucky draw where 20 students gained insights into MACL’s operations, while 10 received special gifts. Shareef expressed his hope for increased employment of Maldivians across all roles in the company in the future, fostering a stronger workforce in the aviation industry.
