Ooredoo Maldives Invests MVR 16 Million in Healthcare

Ooredoo Maldives has demonstrated its commitment to improving healthcare in the Maldives by donating specialized medical equipment valued at MVR 16 million to enhance the national Air Ambulance service. This initiative forms part of Ooredoo’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, with a strong emphasis on healthcare.

Launched on March 1, 2024, the Air Ambulance service has quickly become vital for those needing urgent medical care. The initial equipment supplied by Ooredoo was crucial for the service's launch. Since then, the Air Ambulance has managed 436 cases, transporting 517 patients to essential medical care.

To build on this early success, Ooredoo Maldives is providing additional specialized equipment to further strengthen the Air Ambulance's life-saving capabilities. This new gear is designed to enhance patient care and improve the service's ability to respond effectively to medical emergencies throughout the Maldives.

Ooredoo Maldives emphasizes the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing community health needs. The significant investment reflects a commitment to ensuring that everyone, regardless of their location, has access to critical care.

The Air Ambulance service, now equipped with advanced medical devices, plays a crucial role in delivering timely interventions and emergency care to critically ill patients. With the introduction of this new equipment, the service aims to expand its operations and provide life-saving care to even more individuals in need, ultimately contributing to a healthier nation.
