Streamlined Seafood Exports: MIFCO Partners with MSS

On Monday, the Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO) signed a significant agreement with Maldives State Shipping (MSS) to improve the shipping of fish and fish products. Under this partnership, MSS will handle all logistics for exporting MIFCO's offerings, which include frozen tuna, tuna cans, tuna pouches, and fishmeal.

The process involves loading these products into MSS containers at various MIFCO facilities and transporting them to Male' using MSS’s local inter-atoll vessel, the MSS Opal. From Male', the products will be transferred to MSS feeder boats for global distribution.

MIFCO highlighted that this new agreement marks a shift in their export strategy, reducing costs and addressing storage challenges. It also opens avenues to reach new international markets through MSS's extensive global network, enhancing the reach and efficiency of Maldivian seafood exports.
