REMINDER: 10 p.m. to Midnight Starting 10 January

Waste Management Corporation Limited (WAMCO) has announced changes to its waste collection services from households in Male’. According to the decision, waste will be collected from households in Male’ city between 10 p.m. and midnight. Note that this change will only apply to the service in Male’ city and teams in Villimale’ and Hulhumale’ will continue to provide the service between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. without any further changes.

WAMCO advices for the corporation of the public for the smooth running of their services. Lets make it a personal responsibility to adhere with the guidelines of WAMCO in disposing of waste and keep practicing good hygiene.  

This is a positive change brought about with the reopening of schools in mind, given that roads in Male’ get highly congested with traffic during peak hours of the day. WAMCO will be refraining from contributing to traffic jams with their vehicles on the road during these times with the change in waste collection timings. In addition to this, road cleaning services will also be carried on from midnight till dawn with these changes.

Initially, waste was being collected from door to door but since the pandemic, WAMCO has adapted their services for the safety of its employees and the public. They will be revising the current updates alongside the improvements to the COVID-19 situation in the region.
