Bank of Maldives has officially begun accepting RuPay cards at its ATMs and POS terminals. RuPay, developed by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), is India’s first global card payment network, currently serving over 300 million users worldwide.
Moosa Nimal, Director of Retail, Business and SME Banking at BML, expressed excitement about this milestone, highlighting the importance of the partnership with NPCI. He noted that the acceptance of RuPay cards will streamline payment processes for users in the Maldives.
The Bank of Maldives boasts a comprehensive network that includes 39 branches across all 20 atolls, 88 Self Service Banking Centres, 143 ATMs, and more than 7,000 merchants.
