The Bank of Maldives (BML) has unveiled the recipients of its inaugural 'Bank Fund,' designed to empower NGOs in implementing sustainable community projects. A total of MVR 200,000 in grants will be distributed among five selected initiatives this year.
The chosen projects include the Coral Farm Organization's efforts in Baa Atoll to protect marine species and cultivate corals. Additionally, the Children of Maldives will raise environmental awareness and establish a library in ViliMale’. Dhiggaru Ekuveri Zuvaanunge Gulhun will focus on agriculture and food safety, while Veymandoo Zuvaanunge Gulhun will create training rooms for children with special needs at Veymandoo School. Lastly, the Unity Sports Academy aims to empower youth through sports and technology by setting up media and sports labs at Funadhoo School in Shaviyani Atoll.
BML’s Deputy CEO Aishath Nooradeen emphasized that the Bank Fund will drive positive change across the nation.
