Celebrating 52 Years of Diplomatic Ties Between Maldives and China

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has expressed a strong commitment to enhancing Maldives-China relations, aiming to elevate bilateral ties that benefit both nations. His remarks were shared on social media to commemorate China’s 75th National Day.

In his post, President Muizzu congratulated China’s President Xi Jinping, as well as the Chinese government and citizens. He underscored the significance of the Maldives-China partnership and reaffirmed the Maldives' dedication to the One-China Principle.

This year marks the 52nd anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Maldives and China, which were established on October 14, 1972. The celebration of China’s National Day on October 1 commemorates the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the end of a 23-year internal conflict.

As both countries look forward to deepening cooperation, the Maldives is poised to continue reaping the mutual benefits of this longstanding relationship.
