Inspiring Future Careers: TMA Hosts Students for Interactive Visit

Trans Maldivian Airways (TMA) recently welcomed 24 students from Aminiyya School for an engaging educational visit, demonstrating its commitment to youth development and education. This initiative, organized in collaboration with the Maldives Association of Tourism Industry (MATI) and the Ministry of Education, is part of the newly launched "Discover Tourism: Exploring Career Pathways 2024" program. The goal is to inspire young Maldivians to consider various career opportunities within the tourism and hospitality sectors.

On September 23rd, the students experienced TMA's renowned seaplane operations at the cutting-edge Noovilu Seaplane Terminal. The visit featured interactive sessions led by experienced team members from key departments, providing valuable insights into various roles within the company. Students learned about Business Development, Human Resources, Safety & Security, Quality & Compliance, Aircraft Maintenance, and Flight Operations, each session highlighting the significance of these departments in TMA’s daily operations.

Following these informative sessions, a question-and-answer segment allowed students to engage directly with TMA professionals. This interaction helped deepen their understanding of specific job roles, necessary qualifications, and the career pathways available in the aviation sector. The students also enjoyed a guided tour of TMA's facilities, including Guest Lounges, Boarding Gates, and Seaplane Docks, giving them a firsthand look at the daily workflow of the world's largest seaplane operations.

This educational initiative is part of TMA’s broader strategy to work with schools across the Maldives, promoting a better understanding of the tourism industry and aviation careers. Through such familiarization trips, TMA aims to spark interest among youth in pursuing careers in aviation and tourism, emphasizing the numerous opportunities within these sectors.

The "Discover Tourism: Exploring Career Pathways" program, led by MATI, aims to raise awareness and interest among young Maldivians regarding potential careers in the thriving tourism sector. Through targeted educational sessions, the program seeks to equip students with the knowledge and inspiration needed to embark on fulfilling careers in tourism and aviation.

As a dedicated partner in this initiative, TMA is committed to nurturing future generations through meaningful educational engagement, reinforcing its role as a key player in the Maldives’ aviation and tourism landscape.
