The Maldives Hajj Corporation is set to launch a new housing project named 'Niam Residence' in Hulhumale’. In a recent agreement, Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) will provide design services, including architectural designs and engineering drawings, for the project.
The agreement was signed by FDC Managing Director Hamdhan Shakeel and Hajj Corporation Managing Director Mohamed Shakeel. This collaboration highlights FDC's commitment to expanding its role in the Maldivian construction landscape.
Hajj Corporation’s Managing Director confirmed that the apartments in the Niam Residence project will be available for purchase by all interested parties. However, details regarding the number of apartments and the contractors involved remain undisclosed at this time.
FDC has previously engaged in similar agreements with various organizations, including the Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Maldive Gas, showcasing their experience in designing various buildings.
In addition, the Hajj Corporation recently acquired two plots of land in Hulhumale’ last May. One of these sites will soon house a nine-floor office complex, contracted to MedTech Maldives Pvt Ltd for MVR 79.1 million. Construction is expected to be completed within 18 months.
This project marks an exciting development for both the Hajj Corporation and FDC as they aim to contribute to the growing housing and commercial infrastructure in the Maldives.
