This year’s event features participation from over 100 exhibitors showcasing more than 10,000 brands, including suppliers of food, beverages, housekeeping products, and tourism-related services.
The expo not only includes local companies but also welcomes participants from countries such as Singapore, the UAE, Germany, Italy, Turkey, Pakistan, India, and Sri Lanka. Imran Hassan, CEO of event organizer CDC Events, expressed optimism that FHAM will be one of their most successful events yet, with over 5,000 visitors expected.
During the inauguration, Minister of Economic Development and Trade Mohamed Saeed emphasized the expo's significant role in promoting the tourism sector. He highlighted the culinary challenge, which allows local chefs to demonstrate their skills and aims to feature Maldivian cuisine on international airline menus.
The culinary challenge began yesterday and includes 21 categories. Additionally, the expo hosts a barista challenge, a mocktail challenge, and a housekeeping challenge, attracting over 700 participants in total.
FHAM runs until next Wednesday, with daily hours from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, showcasing the best of the Maldivian hospitality industry.
