Get the Very First Glimpse of ‘Ekani Ekuga - An Art Exhibition By The Youth’ Today!

United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Maldives in collaboration with the European Union (EU), Ministry of Youth, Sports & Community Empowerment and Ooredoo Maldives, hosted an art workshop under the tile ‘Youth Vision’ in December 2020. The art workshop which was conducted virtually, with participation of 45 youths from across the country, was a perfect blend of art and existing social issues in our community.

The art pieces created by the participants is set to be exhibited for the public for two weeks. According to a tweet by UNDP Maldives, the exhibition titled; Ekani Ekuga - An Exhbition by the Youth, will open virtually today at 4pm. This initiative was highly commended by its participants as the end of result of the art workshop was beyond amazing and inspiring pieces of art which had compelling stories to tell. Having held the workshop in the midst of a pandemic, their art pieces will prove that art can be an excellent coping mechanism during tough times, and that it is something that brings people together to create meaningful connections even if they are (quite literally) oceans apart.
