The Maldives Hajj Corporation has officially laid the foundation stone for its new headquarters, marking a major milestone for the organization. The ground-breaking ceremony was led by Managing Director Mohammed Shakeel, accompanied by key officials. The new headquarters will rise on a prominent plot in front of Amin Avenue in Hulhumale’ and will be developed by Medtech Maldives.
The project, initially budgeted at USD 5.6 million, has seen costs reduced to USD 5.1 million following negotiations. Scheduled for completion within 18 months, the nine-story building will house the corporation's offices and include rentable office space, adding a potential revenue stream.
Managing Director Shakeel highlighted that this development is crucial for the corporation’s growth and operational efficiency. Established in 2013 by Presidential Decree, the Hajj Corporation has previously operated from various rented locations. This new headquarters represents a strategic shift, aiming to enhance service delivery and financial stability.
The construction of this new building aligns with the President’s vision for a permanent, efficient office. Further details about the project’s progress will be announced in the near future, promising to deliver a modern workspace for the corporation's needs.
