Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) is set to enhance its bus services in the Greater Male' Region by starting operations an hour earlier. Effective from September 8, buses will now begin their routes at 5:00 AM instead of the previous 6:00 AM.
This adjustment follows public feedback and affects eight key routes. Changes include adjustments to routes connecting Westpark and Carnival to Hulhumale' Phase I, Hulhumale' Phase II to Phase I, and other significant routes such as the Orchid, Ameenee, and Sosun routes. MTCC aims to address the rising demand for public transport and improve overall service efficiency.
MTCC, the primary public transport provider in the Maldives, is also grappling with the challenge of increasing vehicle numbers in the Greater Male' Region. The company continues to explore ways to enhance service quality and accommodate growing passenger needs.
Beyond its bus services, MTCC is working with the government to develop a nationwide ferry system. This initiative aims to better connect islands across the country, reflecting the company’s commitment to improving transportation infrastructure.
