Malé Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has introduced a new range of conduit pipes designed to protect electrical wires from damage. The pipes, manufactured at MWSC’s local factory, are engineered to shield wires from water and other potential hazards.
The launch ceremony, held at MWSC, was attended by Managing Director Abdul Matheen Mohamed and Minister of Cities, Local Government, and Public Works, Adam Shareef Umar. The new conduit pipes, available in orange and white, come in sizes of 16mm, 20mm, 25mm, 32mm, and 40mm and are now on sale at MWSC's showroom.
Minister Shareef emphasized the significance of this local product, noting its role in enhancing electrical safety and supporting infrastructure development in the Maldives. He expressed pride in the company’s ability to produce such items domestically.
MWSC Managing Director Abdul Matheen Mohamed highlighted the economic advantages of the new conduit pipes. Previously imported, these locally produced pipes will help reduce costs and minimize foreign currency expenditure. Matheen also pointed out that the increase in local production would benefit the company’s finances and pave the way for future product innovations.
Hardware Lab was honored as the first customer to purchase the new pipes during the ceremony, marking the start of a new chapter in local manufacturing for MWSC.
