The Maldives and the General Authority of Civil Aviation of Saudi Arabia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a framework for enhanced seaplane operations. This significant agreement was signed by Mohamed Ameen, the Maldives' Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, and Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Transport and Logistics.
The MoU focuses on the development of safety and security regulations for water aerodromes and seaplanes, ensuring they meet international standards. It also emphasizes collaborative efforts to minimize environmental impacts during aviation operations. This agreement highlights the growing strategic partnership between the Maldives and Saudi Arabia.
The signing ceremony took place during Minister Ameen's official visit to Saudi Arabia, following an invitation from Saudi Arabia's Minister of Transport and the President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Duailej. The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation also mentioned that Minister Ameen is scheduled to engage in comprehensive discussions aimed at further strengthening bilateral relations in the field of civil aviation.
