Exciting New 5K Team Event Introduced in Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race

For this year’s Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race (DMRR), Dhiraagu has introduced a new category designed for teams from offices and resorts. The Office & Resort – 5K Team Event aims to bring employees together to compete and showcase their organizational spirit.

Teams of four can now register for this event, with each member paying a registration fee of MVR 250. The new category allows employees from resorts, government entities, state-owned enterprises, and the private sector to participate. Each organization can enter multiple teams, offering a competitive edge and the chance to win notable prizes.

Teams will be evaluated based on the total finish time of their members, provided they complete the race within the 45-minute cutoff. The top teams will be awarded as follows:

• Winning Team: MVR 10,000
• Runner-up Team: MVR 8,000
• Second Runner-up Team: MVR 6,000

Teams can be all-male, all-female, or mixed. Participants registered in this category are exclusively competing in the Office & Resort – 5K Team Event.

DMRR is the Maldives’ premier international run, recognized in the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) World Running calendar with a World Athletics-certified route. The 15th edition of the run is scheduled for October 25, 2024, at Central Park, Hulhumale’.
As in previous years, DMRR 2024 will support child protection initiatives as part of Dhiraagu’s corporate social responsibility efforts. The event also provides a platform for NGOs to raise awareness and funds for this crucial cause.
