Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB) has partnered with Ghiyasuddin International School (GIS) to introduce the 'Aaila' cash card, designed to enhance financial literacy among students. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for this initiative was signed during a special ceremony at GIS by MIB’s CEO Mufaddal Idris Khumri and GIS Principal Thoha Saleem.
The Aaila card is specifically created to help young learners understand and manage their finances more effectively. It will serve as a practical tool for students to develop essential money management skills early in life. MIB emphasized that the card will act as a tangible resource for students, enabling them to grasp the basics of financial management.
Parents will have control over the card, which will be used under specific limits to ensure responsible spending. Alongside the card, MIB will deliver educational programs focused on financial literacy, covering key topics such as savings, investments, and budgeting. This initiative aims to equip students with a stronger understanding of financial concepts, laying the foundation for responsible financial behavior in the future.
