Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB) has announced a significant environmental initiative by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to plant 1,000 trees on Kudagiri Island in Kaafu Atoll Gulhifalhu. The agreement was formalized between MIB’s Managing Director and CEO, Mufaddal Idris Khumri, and Hafsath Aleem, President and Founder of Clean Maldives, a local NGO dedicated to promoting environmental and societal improvements.
In addition to the tree planting, MIB plans to implement awareness programs under the MoU. These initiatives will include organizing tree plantation events across various islands and educating residents on environmental sustainability practices.
MIB's ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship is reflected in this project, which is part of their broader strategy to contribute positively to the Maldives' ecological health. The bank’s efforts aim to foster a greener future while engaging local communities in sustainable practices.
