BML Islamic has announced a major investment in the Islamic University of Maldives (IUM) Sanabil project, which will see the construction of a modern, seven-story campus in Hulhumalé. This investment involves BML Islamic fully subscribing to the IUM Sanabil Sukuk issued in June 2024, making it the first Maldivian bank to invest in an Islamic capital market instrument issued by a statutory body.
The investment underscores BML Islamic’s commitment to advancing the Islamic banking and finance sector while supporting the growth of Islamic education. The new campus is expected to have a significant impact on both the university and the local community, contributing to the development of a knowledge-based economy in the Maldives.
As a leading provider of Shari'ah-compliant financial solutions, BML Islamic continues to deliver innovative and ethical banking services, reinforcing its role as a key player in promoting sustainable and impactful investments in the region.
