The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) has launched the “Discover Maldives” webinar series, aimed at enhancing the destination’s global presence and engaging travel trade professionals. The series, which commenced on 21 August 2024, targets approximately 60-80 travel professionals and trade media per session, conducted in localized languages to effectively reach travel agents and tour operators.
The inaugural webinar focused on the French market, showcasing the Maldives as a top travel destination. This session featured presentations from leading properties such as Adaaran Resorts & Heritance Aarah, Angsana Velavaru, and Intercontinental Maldives Maamunagau, highlighting their unique offerings and experiences.
The Discover Maldives series is designed to increase tourist arrivals from both key and emerging markets. MMPRC aims to reinforce the Maldives’ status as a premier travel destination by providing comprehensive insights and building strong relationships with global travel professionals. The series will emphasize the Maldives' diverse tourism products, appealing to travelers with various preferences.
Over the past eight months, the Maldives has seen notable growth in tourist arrivals from major markets, including China, Russia, the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, India, the United States, France, Spain, and Switzerland. The webinar series is a strategic effort to further boost the destination’s appeal and attract more visitors from these regions, while also expanding its reach in emerging markets.
