SAARC Secretary General Md. Golam Sarwar Visits Maldives

Md. Golam Sarwar, Secretary General of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), has arrived in the Maldives for an introductory visit. During his stay, he will meet President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, Foreign Minister Moosa Zameer, and Foreign Secretary Fathimath Inaya.

Accompanied by his spouse Taslima Sarwar and SAARC Secretariat members Shahiya Ali Manik and Bhavesh R. Trivedi, Secretary General Sarwar will conclude his visit on August 8. Sarwar, who became the 15th Secretary-General of SAARC in October 2023, aims to strengthen regional cooperation through this visit.
