The Housing Development Corporation Limited (HDC) has announced plans to implement changes in 11 areas of Hulhumale' to address traffic congestion. This initiative comes in response to a rise in road accidents attributed to heavy traffic.
According to HDC, the busiest areas identified through data from the Maldives Police Service and the company will undergo modifications. These changes include the establishment of roundabouts and the installation of new road signs.
HDC stated that the work will begin this month, with the goal of completing all 11 areas by the end of the year. The anticipated outcome is a significant improvement in traffic flow, which will reduce congestion and enhance road safety for both vehicles and pedestrians.
