Dhiraagu Launches Gamers Guild to Transform Maldivian Esports

Dhiraagu has officially launched the Dhiraagu Gamers Guild (DGG), an innovative platform designed to revolutionize the esports landscape in the Maldives. This locally developed, one-stop platform aims to cater to the needs of gamers by offering a wide range of features and services. The platform was introduced at an event held at Dhiraagu Head Office, attended by the Minister of Sports, Fitness, and Recreation Abdulla Rafiu, along with state ministers, Dhiraagu’s senior management, and members of the gaming community.

"We are thrilled to launch the Dhiraagu Gamers Guild, our very own home-grown gaming platform that will serve as a centralized hub for all esports-related activities by Dhiraagu," stated Ismail Rasheed, CEO & Managing Director of Dhiraagu. "Through our esports activities, we hope to engage more youth involved in esports in the Maldives, cultivating a new generation of gamers and elevating their experience."

The Minister of Sports, Fitness, and Recreation, Abdulla Rafiu, also expressed his support for the initiative. One of the standout features of Dhiraagu Gamers Guild is its seamless registration process for various esports tournaments organized by Dhiraagu. This streamlined process ensures that no gamer misses out on the opportunity to participate in competitions, compete, and showcase their skills. Additionally, DGG offers exclusive fibre broadband boosters and mobile add-ons for registered members, designed to enhance their gaming experience.

The launch event also marked the beginning of a two-day walk-in gaming tournament, where participants can register via DGG and compete in games such as Rocket League and EAFC 24. Players must win three matches in a row to be crowned the 'King of the Hill' and receive a cash prize.
