Diesel price in Hulhumale' reduced for fishermen

The price of diesel supplied to fishermen in Hulhumale' has been decreased to match the rates at which it is sold in sheds. This adjustment is in line with the commitments made by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, as outlined in the government's manifesto.
In addition to this reduction, the Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO) provides diesel to fishermen at special prices in islands where its fish factories are located. This initiative is part of broader efforts to support the fishing industry and improve the profitability of fishermen.
Recently, the State Trading Organisation (STO) reduced the prices of petrol and diesel sold in the Maldives, reflecting the downward trend in global oil prices. Following this, Fuel Supply Maldives Private Limited (FSM) adjusted their fuel prices, now offering one litre of petrol or diesel for USD 0.90.
The government's reduction in diesel prices for fishermen in Hulhumale' is a significant step towards fulfilling the pledges outlined in its manifesto. Concurrently, the government is working on enhancing the fishing industry to bolster the profits of fishermen, ensuring they receive the necessary support to thrive.
