The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC / Visit Maldives) is participating in the Riyadh Travel Fair (RTF) 2024 from May 27 to 29. This year, MMPRC is joined by 17 participants representing nine companies, all working together to promote the Maldives as a top travel destination in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
RTF 2024 is a major annual event in the Saudi capital, where leading travel and tourism companies from Saudi Arabia, the GCC, and other international markets converge. Exhibitors include tourist promotion authorities and companies showcasing their services and investment opportunities. This fair is a hub for corporate travel decision-makers, investors, tour operators, travel agents, and other industry professionals to explore new tourist products and services.
The Maldives stand at RTF 2024 offers visitors a taste of the "Sunny Side of Life." The stand is designed to highlight the diverse aspects of Maldivian tourism, including luxury travel, family holidays, adventure vacations, and cultural experiences. It features a range of unique attractions, such as a social media contest and a special giveaway, a Dhivehi Calligraphy Corner, and opportunities to sample Maldivian delicacies.
Minister of Tourism Dr. Abdulla Mausoom expressed excitement about the Maldives' participation in RTF 2024, stating, "This event provides a fantastic opportunity to showcase the unique experiences and high-quality services the Maldives offers. We aim to attract more visitors from Saudi Arabia and the Middle East by highlighting our luxurious resorts, guesthouses, liveaboards, and hotels."
MMPRC’s participation in the Riyadh Travel Fair is part of its broader strategy to strengthen the Maldives' presence in the Saudi market. The organization aims to increase tourist arrivals, particularly among affluent Middle Eastern travelers seeking luxury experiences. MMPRC's efforts include joint marketing campaigns, informative webinars, participation in major fairs and exhibitions, roadshows, and familiarization trips.
"Saudi Arabia is currently the 21st largest source market for tourists to the Maldives. Our goal is to move up this ranking by engaging directly with the Saudi travel trade and consumers," said Thoyyib Mohamed, CEO and Managing Director of MMPRC. "By showcasing our destination at RTF 2024, we can provide valuable information and build strong relationships with travel industry professionals."
The Maldives has consistently been recognized as one of the world's leading travel destinations, known for its stunning natural beauty, luxurious accommodations, and unique cultural experiences. The Riyadh Travel Fair offers an ideal platform for MMPRC and its partners to share the latest travel tips and destination information with the Middle Eastern market.
In addition to promoting the Maldives' tourism products, MMPRC’s presence at RTF 2024 is aimed at forging new business connections. The fair offers industry partners an opportunity to connect with Middle Eastern travel trade professionals, fostering collaboration and growth in the tourism sector.
MMPRC’s marketing strategies for the KSA market also include hosting roadshows and familiarization trips, which allow Saudi travel agents and media representatives to experience the Maldives firsthand. These initiatives are designed to increase bookings and arrivals from the region, ensuring that the Maldives remains a top-of-mind destination for Saudi travelers.
Overall, the Maldives' participation in the Riyadh Travel Fair 2024 underscores MMPRC’s commitment to promoting the destination and its unique offerings. By showcasing the Sunny Side of Life, the Maldives aims to attract more visitors and strengthen its position as a premier travel destination in the Middle East.
