Ooredoo Maldives announced today that it has renewed its partnership with Maziya Sports & Recreation Club for the fifth consecutive year. This ongoing collaboration aims to foster youth engagement, talent development, and revive the passion for local football across the country.
Founded in 1996, Maziya Sports and Recreation Club has made significant achievements in Maldivian football, including winning the Dhivehi Premier League Championship Titles in 2016, 2019-2020, and 2020-2021. The club also clinched the prestigious President’s Cup in 2015.
In 2015, Maziya launched the Maziya Sports Football Academy, a youth development program with experienced trainers dedicated to nurturing young football talent across the Maldives. As part of their renewed partnership, Ooredoo and Maziya will work closely to promote football and provide new opportunities for aspiring young players through the Football Academy.

The company was the proud title sponsor of the 13th edition of the SAFF Championship, the premier international football tournament for national teams in South Asia, which was hosted in the Maldives. As Title Sponsor, Ooredoo organized several engagement activities, enabling communities across the nation to participate in the vibrant event in 2021.
Reaffirming its commitment to the people of the Maldives, Ooredoo will continue to invest in and engage with communities, enriching lives by creating opportunities for excellence in sports and beyond.
