Dhiraagu, in collaboration with Women in Tech Maldives, has launched registration for the fifth installment of the Girls to Code programme, targeting Haa Alif Dhidhdhoo this year. The initiative aligns with the International Girls in ICT Day, aiming to foster awareness and engagement in technology among young girls.
Girls to Code is designed to equip girls and women with coding skills, encouraging their participation in the tech sector. Beyond coding proficiency, the programme seeks to raise tech awareness within diverse island communities.
Participants, aged 10 to 13 and attending middle or secondary school in Haa Alif Dhidhdhoo, can apply online before May 28, 2024. The programme, slated from late June to September 2024, welcomes girls regardless of prior coding experience.
Empowering girls through technology, Girls to Code has previously reached Fuvahmulah City, Thinadhoo City, Kulhudhuffushi City, and Laamu Atoll in its earlier editions. This ongoing effort underscores Dhiraagu and Women in Tech Maldives' commitment to bridging the gender gap in the tech industry.
