The first and the largest private college operating in the Maldives, Villa College, has launched the ACCA Accelerate & MSc Fast Track Program, in a special ceremony held at Villa College, QI Campus, on Thursday.
This is a program specially designed for students who are studying the University of West of England (UWE) BSc (Hons) Accounting and Finance course offered by the College, enabling them to receive exemption from ACCA Applied Knowledge and Applied Skills Level upon reaching the third year of the course. Students will then be given the opportunity to sit for ACCA Strategic Professional Level modules in the third year.
Apart from this, the MSc Fast Track program, was also introduced at the ceremony which is a professional route for CIMA and ACCA members to complete the UWE’s MSc Accounting and Finance course within 6 months by completing just 2 modules and a dissertation also in addition to the Oxford Brookes University’s BSc (Hons) Applied Accounting Project Mentoring course via an ACCA pathway, for the completion of an accounting degree whilst in pursuit of an ACCA qualification.
According to the Dean of the Faculty of Business Management, Mr. Abdulla Nafiz, notes that the introduction of both of these programs allows accounting students to obtain an academic and professional qualification at the same time giving graduates from Villa College a comparative advantage in the current competitive job market.
Villa College is the only educational institute in the country which offers all three levels of ACCA. The college is presently set to begin its January 2021 Intake with a total of 104 courses; application deadline for the intake has been set for 31st December 2020.
