After being confined to the comfort but also boredom of our house for a significant period in this year due to the lockdown measures imposed, a long and refreshing swim sounds better than anything else. If you prefer swimming in a pool rather than in the open sea, this is amazing news for you.
According to the Swimming Association of Maldives, the swimming pool located at the Hulhumale’ Sports Complex is to be opened for general public to use via a membership basis. In this regard, locals will be charged a fee of MVR 1000 per month or MVR 150 for a one-day use. Foreigners will be charged a fee of MVR 3000 per month or MVR 300 for a one-day use. For any person holding a membership, Swimming Association of Maldives will be allowing that person to use the pool for an hour per day.
There are a few other catches too. As per the guidelines formulated regarding the matter, members of the general public can only use pool at times when it is not in use for training by swimmers on the national team and clubs associated with the Swimming Association of Maldives. Apart from this, Friday and Saturdays will be allocated families and groups, for which a fee has not been allocated yet. Including this, the pool can also be pre-booked for competitions and events on weekdays.
