Maldives Welcomes 600,000 Tourists in First Quarter, Exceeding Previous Year's Figures

In a promising sign for Maldives' tourism sector, the Ministry of Tourism reveals that the archipelago has greeted a staggering 600,000 tourists within the initial three months of this year. This figure marks a significant upsurge of 15.3% compared to the corresponding period last year.
Tourism Minister Ibrahim Faisal commended the diligent efforts of tourism professionals, attributing this success to their dedication. Notably, March witnessed a notable influx, with 194,227 tourists gracing Maldivian shores, showcasing an 11.9% rise from the previous year.
Key markets contributing to this surge include China, Russia, the United Kingdom, Italy, and Germany. With the government targeting two million tourist arrivals for the year, Minister Faisal anticipates surpassing this milestone with strategic tourism promotions in the coming months.
