Bank of Maldives celebrates the success of its Small Grants program with the completion of a groundbreaking hydroponic farming project in B. Kihaadhoo. Through funding provided by BML, Kihaadhoo Development Society (KIDS) established four hydroponic systems, nurturing over 700 plants simultaneously.
The initiative aims to generate revenue for local NGO activities while promoting sustainable agriculture practices. KIDS, in collaboration with the island's Women's Development Committee, conducted training sessions to educate residents about hydroponics and farming techniques. Introduced as part of BML's 40th anniversary, the Small Grants fund empowers NGOs to spearhead community projects, fostering environmental stewardship and sustainable development initiatives.
