Maldives Customs Embarks on AI Integration for Streamlined Operations

In a groundbreaking move, Maldives Customs has adopted Artificial Intelligence (AI) to streamline and enhance its operational processes. Launched on International Customs Day, the AI integration aims to revolutionize the categorization of import and export goods, significantly reducing the time required for declaration and documentation.

The initiative was inaugurated on International Customs Day by MACL's Managing Director Ibrahim Shareef.

Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed, addressing the ceremony, highlighted the initiative's crucial role in adapting to global supply chain changes, foreseeing positive impacts on the nation's economy. The event also marked the introduction of the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) service, aligning with the World Customs Organization's standards to provide specialized services for trusted entities involved in international trade.
