MACL Merit Awards Empower CHSE Students: Scholarships, Work Experience, and Future Opportunities Unveiled

In a groundbreaking initiative, Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) marked a significant milestone at Velana International Airport by presenting the MACL Merit Awards to four exceptional students from the Center for Higher Secondary Education (CHSE). The ceremony, held on December 7, 2023, witnessed the recognition of academic excellence and the inauguration of a comprehensive support program for the awarded students.
The MACL Merit Award, a testament to MACL's commitment to social responsibility and education in Sri Lanka, was bestowed upon two female and two male students who achieved the highest marks among Grade 11 students at CHSE. The recipients, namely Ibrahim Rifaau, Hassan Layana Mohammed, Afaaf Ahmed Mustafa, and Aishath Eeshal Ahmed Aslam, were presented with laptops, data packages, and a generous monthly allowance of MVR 2,000 for a year.

Adding a unique dimension to the awards, MACL extends an opportunity for the winners to gain invaluable work experience and training in their respective fields of interest at Velana International Airport. Speaking at the ceremony, MACL CEO and Managing Director Ibrahim Sharif Mohammed emphasized the significance of the award in motivating students and contributing to their academic pursuits.
