Dhiraagu, in collaboration with Women in Tech Maldives, is set to host the 'Hour of Code™ @ Let’sCodeMV 2023' initiative, spanning across the entire Maldives. Aligned with the International Computer Science Week in December, this global event is designed to introduce coding to students of all ages.
Endorsed by the Ministry of Education, the program aims to simultaneously reach over 1000 students, virtually covering all atolls in the Maldives. Participants, grouped by age, will engage in fun and introductory coding activities facilitated by mentors from Dhiraagu, Women in Tech Maldives, and schoolteachers. The initiative emphasizes the importance of computer science education from pre-school to higher educational levels.
Scheduled for December 16, 2023, with guiding sessions until December 20, interested individuals, schools, organizations, or institutes can register for the 'Hour of Code' through the provided link. Women in Tech Maldives, an international partner of Code.org, and Dhiraagu have successfully conducted this program in the Maldives over the years. 'Hour of Code' serves as a gateway to coding for students, fostering creativity and problem-solving skills that are vital in the 21st century. This collaborative effort contributes to building a foundation for success in various fields for the students of the Maldives.
