On 18th December, Fuel Supplies Maldives (FSM) marked their 20th anniversary. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of the State Trading Organization (STO) which undertakes the work of streamlining fuel distribution in the country and to offer easy and convenient access to fuel throughout the country. Since its inception, the company has successfully built a strong distribution infrastructure to cater to the needs of the country and has been able to establish a network for distribution of fuel. They are also committed to maintain high standards of safety and best practices to minimize the negative impact to the environment from their activities considering the nature of their product.
In celebration of their 20th anniversary, s special function was held yesterday guested by the CEO of STO Group Hussain Amru Mohamed Rashad. At the event, the CEO officially handed over MT. Alihuras to FSM; an oils tanker with a storage capacity of 8.5 million litres, which will be utilized to boost FSM’s delivery services in the future. Apart from this, STO Aifaanu Building was also officially renamed and inaugurated as the FSM building during this ceremony.
Four employees who have been with the company since inception were also honored at the ceremony being; Ms. Aminath Wirudha of Administration Department, Mr. Hassan Yoosuf & Mr. Gurusamy Naraj of the Engineering Department and Mr. Ibrahim Waheed of Investigation Department.
In addition to this, as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility, FSM made a donation of MVR 50,000 to Jamiyyathuh Tha’aavun of which the cheque was officially handed over at the ceremony.
