The largest airline and the flag carrier of the United Arab Emirates, Emirates Airline, has commenced a new, increased, flight frequency to Velana International Airport, effective of yesterday. Whereas the airline was operating three flights per day, from yesterday onwards, they have begun operating a total of four flights daily to Velana International Airport.
This decision was taken by the airline to enhance access to Maldives amidst the year-end holiday season. The airline will be utilizing its Boeing 777 for the operation which will have the capacity of 1400+ seats in combination, per day. With the airline, the passengers can enjoy expanded multi-risk travel insurance coverage, at no additional cost, uniquely offering a stress-free and hassle-free travel.

Emirates Airline resumed operations to Maldives on 16th July, following the border reopening in 15th July. Since then, the largest number of flight movements has been recorded by the airline, at 316.
Since the border reopening, 25 airlines have resumed operations to Maldives. Furthermore, there have been in influx in terms of tourist arrivals in which the destination welcomed the arrival of the 500k tourist for the year, just last Thursday. Increases in flight frequency and resumption of operations by airlines has majorly contributed to the significant increase in recent tourist arrivals.
