Foreign Ministry Clarifies On-Arrival Visa Conditions for Maldivians Travelling to Oman

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has addressed concerns regarding on-arrival visas for Maldivian citizens traveling to Oman. Earlier, in March, the foreign ministry had announced visa exemptions for Maldivians, allowing a 14-day stay in Oman with certain conditions.
These conditions included a minimum six-month passport validity, a confirmed hotel reservation, health insurance, and a return ticket. However, recent clarifications from the foreign ministry have revealed that these on-arrival visas are contingent on specific criteria.
Travelers must hold valid visas or citizenship from the United Kingdom (UK), the United States (US), Canada, Australia, Japan, or Schengen countries. Additionally, they must provide confirmed hotel bookings, return tickets, and health insurance.
For Maldivian travelers who do not meet these conditions, it is advised to obtain visas prior to their journey to Oman. The foreign ministry is currently engaged in discussions with relevant Omani authorities to explore the possibility of unconditional on-arrival visas for Maldivian travelers. This clarification aims to ensure smooth travel experiences for all Maldivian citizens heading to Oman.
