Pivoting Back to Travel – Destination Session with Questex Travel USA by MMPRC

Government mandated body marketing the country as a tourist destination worldwide, Maldives Marketing & Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), on 15th December, has held a Maldives dedicated session – Pivoting Back to Travel – with Questex Travel USA, to focus back on travel and share the destination products information to the USA travel trade.

This event which was held virtually was conducted with the objective of connecting with industry experts and peers to share knowledge, interact with them and to gain exposure amongst the high qualified travel audience and to reestablish the Maldivian destination present and generate leads in the USA market. This session was attended by the key pioneers of travel and trade professionals including travel operators and travel agents.

The most updated information about Maldives and insight on the destination products were shared to participants through a video presentation. It also included of a speaking opportunity and a live Q&A session to interact with the audience which was attended by an experienced cast of trade professionals.

Managing Director of MMPRC, Mr. Thoyyib Mohamed, also interacted with the audience through a video message.

MMPRC anticipates that this campaign with help in marketing the destination as a safe haven for travelers; in terms of the geographically separated islands and the precautionary measures which have been put in place for the safety of travelers in addition to promoting Maldives as the most preferred holiday destination for US travelers via the information shared during the session.

Maldives has been a preferred long-haul holiday destination for US tourists. Since the border reopening of the country on 15th July, over 16k tourist arrivals were recorded from the US by the end of November, making it the fourth largest tourist market to Maldives.
