Ha. Hoarafushi Airport Jetty: A Transformation Worth MVR 5.65 Million

The paradisiacal island of Ha. Hoarafushi is witnessing a transformative development with the successful completion of the Ha. Hoarafushi Airport Jetty Construction Project, valued at MVR 5.65 million.
This ambitious endeavor, executed with precision and commitment, signifies a new era for the island's connectivity and infrastructure. The comprehensive scope of work includes the dredging of an impressive 18,000 cubic meters of the channel to facilitate smooth navigation for vessels, improving access to and from the island.

To fortify the jetty area against the elements, a 44-meter quay wall was constructed using innovative L-block technology, showcasing modern engineering techniques aimed at bolstering the island's resilience to coastal erosion.
In a bold move towards land reclamation and expansion, a staggering 51,587 square meters of land have been reclaimed around the jetty area, offering more space for various activities and services.
The project also prioritizes safety and navigation with the installation of navigation lights, ensuring 24/7 functionality and enhanced safety for maritime traffic.
This transformational project, initiated to improve connectivity and bolster the island's infrastructure, is a testament to the Maldivian government's dedication to the sustainable development of its islands. As the final touches are put in place, Ha. Hoarafushi and its residents can look forward to a future filled with enhanced accessibility and economic opportunities, further enriching the island's unique charm.
