Malé, Maldives - The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has inked a significant agreement with the Ministry of Islamic Affairs to embark on the construction of Ha. Thuraakunu Mosque. The signing ceremony saw MTCC’s CEO, Adam Azim, and H.E. Dr. Ahmed Zahir Ali, Minister of Islamic Affairs, formalizing their commitment to this noble endeavor.
The scope of this pivotal project encompasses the construction of a spacious mosque with a capacity to accommodate 300 worshipers. In addition to the mosque building, the project will include the establishment of two ablution areas, essential paving works, and the iconic minaret that graces mosque architecture. The total value of this undertaking stands at MVR 11.21 million.
This partnership between MTCC and the Ministry of Islamic Affairs underscores their shared commitment to enhancing the religious infrastructure of the Maldives. The new Ha. Thuraakunu Mosque will not only provide a serene place of worship but also serve as a symbol of unity and spirituality within the local community.
The mosque’s strategic design ensures that it can accommodate a sizable congregation, allowing residents of Ha. Thuraakunu Island to come together for communal prayers and religious activities.
