Reef Raiders Triumphs in Ooredoo Masrace 2023 – Fuvahmulah City with Record-Breaking Victory

The resounding cheers of victory echoed through the air as Team Reef Raiders clinched the championship title at Ooredoo Masrace 2023 – Fuvahmulah City edition. A thrilling competition that brought together the finest fishermen and fishing enthusiasts, the event concluded with Team Reef Raiders setting a remarkable record of 1326.45 points, securing their place at the top of the podium.

The grand closing ceremony, held at Fuvahmulah Bandharu, was graced by esteemed guests, including Fuvahmulah City Mayor Ismail Rafeeq, North Fuvahmulah MP Mohamed Rasheed, and South Fuvahmulah MP Mohamed Mumthaz. With a spirit of camaraderie and celebration, dignitaries and participants alike commemorated the event's success.

Team Reef Raiders' stellar performance not only earned them the championship title but also a well-deserved cash prize of MVR 25,000. The competition showcased exceptional dedication and skills, with Team Nagai Haali securing the runner-up position with a commendable total of 335 points. Close on their heels, Team Meyre Bol secured the second runner-up position, amassing a total of 175.8 points.

Amidst the display of remarkable achievements, Abdulla Ibrahim from Team Reef Raiders stood out by claiming the Heaviest Catch title. His exceptional catch of a Ruby weighing 8.05kg not only earned him this prestigious title but also a special gift pack from Sea Gear. Adding to his accolades, Abdulla Ibrahim also secured the coveted Best Fisherman title, boasting an impressive tally of 17 catches throughout the competition.

The event also celebrated the talent and dedication of women in fishing. Safa Adnan from Team Meyre Bol was recognized as the Best Fisherwoman of Ooredoo Masrace 2023 in Fuvahmulah City, highlighting the inclusive spirit of the competition.
This year's Ooredoo Masrace 2023 held special significance as part of Ooredoo Maldives' 18th Anniversary celebrations. The event expanded its reach to encompass all four major cities: Male' City, Kulhudhuffushi City, Addu City, and Fuvahmulah City, uniting communities across the nation in the spirit of competition, sportsmanship, and celebration.
